Farrah Fawcett started her career as a model in Corpus Christi in Texas. In her long and distinguished career she was nominated four occasions for the Emmy Award, six for a Golden Globe Award. Then in Corpus Christi Texas she started her professional career as a commercial actress. Television guest appearances on her show include "I Dream of Jeannie," The Flying Nun" as well as other programs. The first time she appeared in film was her part, which was a minor supporting part of The French feature film Love is a Funny Thing. Her iconic poster of her with a bikini in red became the most popular photo of her ever. Her appearances on well-known TV as well as film productions have helped establish her as an industry sex-symbol. Her popularity was reflected in her portrayal as a private investigator in the drama show "Charlie's Angels". The show featured the exploits of three women who worked in the private detective firm situated in Los Angeles. In addition to playing roles that were glamorous, she was also reputed for taking up dramatic roles such as the character of a battered woman in the TV movie, 'The Burning bed. The actress was listed at 26th in TV Guide's "50 greatest TV stars of All-Time'. At the age of 59, she was found to be suffering from anal cancer. She passed away three years after that.
