Garena's Garena first league (GPL) was introduced in May 2012. It is a professional online gaming event that lasts for 6 months and features more than 100 games. GPL's first season is an internet-based League of Legends tournament with six professional teams. They are comprised of top players from their respective nations. GPL games are filmed and broadcast online along with commentaries, which are made available to the public to watch on the GPL official website. In January of 2013, Garena revealed the second Season of Garena Premier League, which would start on 4 January 2013. Garena Premier League, 2013 includes two teams from Taiwan as well as Vietnam. The total of eight teams has been up to nine. AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Taipei Assassins, and Singapore Sentinels are the teams. The stadium opened in November of 2014. Garena Electronic Sports Stadium, an arena specifically designed for e-sports, opened at Neihu District, Taipei. This studio was partly built to host games from the League of Legends Masters Series which is the most prestigious LoL Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau league that was a spinoff of GPL. In January of 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League an all-women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. It's a monthly tournament held in the second week of each month. It aims to encourage participation of groups with low representation and is accessible to women who identify as female. Garena is a non-profit organization that organizes events offline for users looking to get connected and have a chat. This includes an annual Garena Carnival which takes place in Singapore as well as Malaysia.
