Cindy Crawford

Cynthia Ann Crawford (born February 20 1965) is an American model as well as a TV personality and actress. She was a supermodel as well as an iconic figure on magazines covers, runways, and fashion advertisements in the 1980s and 1990s. In the following years, she started acting and started a business. She received a call in her sophomore year by a local clothes shop about modeling work. It was viewed as a joke by two of her peers. Crawford was contacted by a different retailer the following year to be a model for them. The store also hosted an fashion shoot. In her senior year local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a college student to be the week's coed for the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to take her picture for the magazine; the result was Crawford's first cover. Crawford was inspired to continue modeling based on the positive comments and pictures she received. She initially worked for an agency that was small, and was bought by Elite Model Management shortly after she signed. When she was 17 years old, she participated in Elite's Look of the Year contest and made it to the finals at national level.
